opinion to the Bureau.<\/p><\/li><li><p>Liaising with the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation on matters pertaining to the Bureau\u2019s statutory duties, and review of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, and matters pertaining thereto.<\/p><\/li><li><p>Attends Petition Screening Committee meetings.<\/p><\/li><li><p>Prosecute public officers who contravene the code of conduct for public officers and defend all matters of interest to the Bureau.<\/p><\/li><li><p>Vetting Agreements, Contracts and Memoranda of Association<\/p><\/li><li><p>Performance of any other functions as may be directed by the Bureau.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-2672\" class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">KOGI TRIBUNAL SITTING<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2672\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2672\"><p>The Legal Department attended the first Code of Conduct Tribunal sitting for the year from 17th -19th April, 2012. It prosecuted 172 public officers from Kwara and Kogi States charged for defaulting in declaring their Assets, as enshrined in Paragraph 11 of Part 1, Fifth Schedule of the Constitution, at the sitting of the Code of Conduct Tribunal in Lokoja, Kogi State. The public officers charged consist of staff of Nigerian Television Authority, Government House, Ilorin, Kwara State House of Assembly, Nigeria Police and staff of Local Government Councils from Kogi State. Twenty-three cases are still pending at the Tribunal.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-2673\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2673\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon elementor-toggle-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-caret-right\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-opened\"><i class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-opened fas fa-caret-up\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">CHARGES FILED AT THE CODE OF CONDUCT TRIBUNAL HEADQUARTERS, ABUJA ARISING FROM PETITIONS RECEIVED BY THE PETITION SCREENING COMMITTEE.<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2673\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2673\"><p>The Legal Department has further filed charges against the following public officers\u20ac\u2122 persons before the Code of Conduct Tribunal and hearing has already commenced on 11th \u20ac\u201c 13th September, 2012 and is now at different stages of proceedings at the Tribunal are\u00a0 listed below:<\/p><p>(i)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 F.R.N VS.
