HEAD OF DEPARTMENT – Mr. Jimoh .S. Alabi (FCA)
PREAMBLE
The Department of Asset and Liabilities Administration was created from the merger of three former Assets Departments, namely:
- Federal Public Service,
- Federal Political Department – and
- State and Local Government Department.
The Department is saddled with the responsibility of administering asset declarations of both career and political office holders, in line with the mandate of the Code of Conduct Bureau.
STRUCTURE
The Department is structured into the following divisions:
- Statutory Corporations and Agencies
- Civil Service Division
- Foreign Affairs
- Military Personnel
- Police Personnel
- Paramilitary and Other Uniformed Personnel
Each division is further subdivided into the following units:
a. Examination Unit
b. Registration Unit
c. Processing Unit
d. Storage Unit
FUNCTIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT
In line with its mandate, the core functions of the Department include:
- Requesting and receiving nominal rolls from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
- Receiving properly completed self-service Asset Declaration Forms.
- Processing returned Asset Declaration Forms.
- Issuing acknowledgement slips for returned Asset Declaration Forms.
- Verifying returned Asset Declaration Forms using random and risk-based sampling methods.
- Releasing Certified True Copies (CTCs) of Asset Declaration Forms upon request from the Chairman’s Office, FIFA Unit, II&M Department, and other sister agencies.
- Keeping custody of returned Asset Declaration Forms .
- Maintaining statistical data on asset declaration performance for both career and political office holders.
- Performing other administrative duties relating to the Department.
