The Code of Conduct Bureau today 8th of December, 2023 joined other anti corruption bodies to commemorate this year’s world anti- corruption day with the theme, UNCAC at 20: Uniting the World Against Corruption.

The Ag. Chairman, Code of Conduct Bureau, Barr. Aliyu Murtala Kankia in delivering his good will message noted that corruption prevention starts with proper assets declaration of all public officers.

He further explained that Chapter 2, Article 5 of the UNCAC declaration harps strongly on preventive measures adding that each state party to the convention shall endeavour to establish and promote effective practice aimed at the prevention of corruption.

Barr. Kankia also stated that the Code of Conduct Bureau employs sensitisation, public education and assets tracking as strategies to prevent corruption before it takes place.

Other papers were presented by other stakeholders with a clarion call to unite in the fight against corruption as there is urgent need for collaboration and strong partnerships now more than ever before .
