The Chairman, CCB, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello, FCCA, FHEA, CFE, has revealed that the Assets and Liabilities Declaration System (ALDS) is currently being developed to strengthen transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s public sector.
He made this known at the two-day stakeholders’ workshop in Abuja on the 25th of November, 2025.
Dr. Bello explained that once completed, ALDS will enable real-time verification of assets, automatically flag undeclared wealth, and link seamlessly with government databases like NIN, FIRS, CAC, and the Land Registry.
To ensure sustainability, the Bureau is considering a nominal fee for senior officers, while junior staff may receive waivers, reducing reliance on government funding.
Dr. Bello acknowledged and appreciated the European Union, International IDEA, and RoLAC for supporting this landmark initiative and sponsoring the event.
