The Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Dr Abdullahi Usman Bello, FCCA, CFE, led some staff on a courtesy visit to Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF) on February 25, 2025, in Abuja.

The visit was aimed at strengthening collaborations between the two institutions to enhance policy enforcement and compliance within the civil service.

Dr Bello highlighted key areas of focus were the Bureau needs support.These include; policy alignment and enforcement to ensure that all civil servants fulfil their mandatory asset declaration requirements, enlightenment and compliance serving as prerequisites for promotions and rewards, data sharing to facilitate seamless access to accurate civil servant records to enhance compliance tracking.

Dr Bello stressed that the Bureau prioritises compliance over sanctions and urged the Head of Service to champion these initiatives for better service delivery.

In her response, Mrs Walson-Jack acknowledged the extensive mandate of the Bureau, given its responsibility for overseeing both civil servants and political officeholders. She recognised the importance of handling the large volume of asset declaration forms efficiently and pledged her support for strengthening compliance mechanisms.
She assured the Chairman that her office would put structures in place to ensure that all civil servants meet their asset declaration obligations.

She concluded by saying that the visit marks a new phase of cooperation between the CCB and the HOCSF, reinforcing shared goals of integrity, transparency, and efficiency in government offices.
