The Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello, FCCA, CFE, paid a working visit to the Nigeria Customs Service Headquarters, Abuja, where he met with the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi (MFR), to strengthen institutional collaboration on integrity, ethics and compliance with the Code of Conduct for Public Officers. During the visit, the Chairman announced that the Bureau had completed the development of its Online Assets and Liabilities Declaration System (OALDS), which will enable public officers to declare their assets electronically without visiting any Bureau office. He also highlighted the introduction of the Code of Conduct for Public Officers (CCPO) online learning platform and the deployment of Artificial Intelligence to enhance asset verification and promote compliance.
The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi (MFR), reaffirmed the Nigeria Customs Service’s commitment to integrity, professionalism and accountability, noting that ethical conduct remains central to the Service’s operations in line with World Customs Organisation standards. He also pledged closer collaboration with the Code of Conduct Bureau to strengthen transparency, ethical standards and compliance across the Service.
