The Chairman of CCB, Prof. Mohammed Isah in  company of  some Board Members and Staff of the Bureau visited  the Chairman of EFCC, Mr Adulrasheed Bawa to exchange ideas on how to  collaborate  to enable the two organisations fight corruption effectively.

Prof. Isah in his speech gave an overview of the operations of the Bureau,  stating that the CCB is not secretive in its operations especially in the handling of assets declaration forms but restricted by laws  governing its operations which makes it difficult for everyone to access its data. However, whatever information that is requested is given to public institutions.

He further clarified insinuations in the media that the CCB declines public institutions legitimate request of completed asset declaration forms. He further emphasized that “any organisations or anti-corruption agency that claims that CCB have denied them assets form is not being fair to the CCB” he said.

He further,  appreciated the EFCC Chairman for the cordial relationship existing between the two agencies and hope to recieve support in the area of assets tracking, technology and collaborative investigation to enable the Bureau save cost.

The Chairman of EFCC Adulrasheed  Bawa responded by appreciating the CCB for taking the initiative to visit the EFCC. Mr. Bawa said, the CCB and EFCC have collaborated over the years across the federation especially at the  EFCC Academy.

He also assured Prof. Isah of his readiness to support the CCB in every  possible way to achieve its mandate thereby saving cost for the government. He listed the equipments available and promised to train the staff of the Bureau in the areas of administration, forensic investigation, assets tracing and recovery.

Other areas include collaboration in prosecution and technical areas, such as review of the CCB form and verification. They thanked CCB for their support in responding to their request for completed asset declaration forms and asked for stronger collaboration.
