The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) received the President and some members of the Council, Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Examiners of Nigeria (CIFCFEN) on a courtesy call at the headquarters, on the 20th of July, 2022.

The Chairman of the CCB, Prof Mohammed Isah, welcomed the visitors by stressing the benefits both parties stand to gain from the partnership which will also impact every citizen of Nigeria as they both fight against corruption.

In addition, Prof Isah said, “the Bureau will not spare any public officer be it political, appointed, career, military, or paramilitary in carrying out its mandates as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution”.

He concluded by thanking the Nigerian President for all the support CCB has enjoyed in time past which has enabled it set up an online declaration portal which is currently functional.

The President of CIFCFEN, Dr Iliyasu Gashinbaki,  said President Muhammadu Buhari, has directed all the anti-corruption agencies in the country to collaborate with the institute to fight corruption.

He listed three key areas the institute intends to focus on while working with the Bureau. They are:

1.     The 2023 Country Report will focus on electronic assets declaration.

2.     The Institute will support the Bureau in capacity building of CCB staff in research, training and retraining.

3.     The Institute will support in building capacity of other institutions to understand the operations of the CCB.

He concluded by saying corruption will end in Nigeria the day CCB starts to function optimally due to the central role it plays in the fight again corruption.
